WHO WE ARE
The International Association for the Study of Genetics and Molecular Biology of Yeast - APS (AISL-APS) aims to carry out initiatives aimed at enhancing knowledge on yeasts (including the model Saccharomyces cerevisiae), raising public awareness and national, European, and international institutions on the importance of these microorganisms.
AISL members include researchers and organizations/associations belonging to the national and international yeast community involved in the development of activities aimed at supporting scientific research on yeast, in particular that aimed at developing new biotechnologies, drugs, and therapies for the treatment and diagnosis of diseases ranging from tumors to autoimmune diseases.
AISL activities will be integrated with those of the International Conference on Yeast Genetics and Molecular Biology (ICYGMB), with the European federation of microbiological societies FEMS and with the International Union of Microbiological Societies, IUMS

Aim
The purpose of AISL is to promote higher education in the microbiology, genetics, and molecular biology of yeasts and the communication and valorization of the discoveries obtained on these microorganisms in our country and internationally. For this reason, the activities of AILS are aimed at promoting synergies between the different communities of researchers, the communication of the most advanced discoveries, and the maintenance of informational, computational, and biological resources on yeasts.
